Graskop is a quaint little town in the heart of the Mpumalanga forestry region. It is surrounded by beautiful forests, waterfalls, views and spectacular scenery. The roads in the area around Graskop is all mostly good, ranging from long sweeps to short slow twisties. You can quite easily use Graskop as a base to explore the region, and to sample the many delights this area has in stall. It also plays host to the annual Bike SA magazine Paradise Rally, one of the biggest on the rally calendar in Southern Africa. Every year thousands of motorcyclists gather here to have fun, and enjoy the many beautiful roads in the area.  Other world famous attractions in the area include God’s Window, Berlin Falls, Pinnacle Rock and Bourke's Luck potholes. This area is simply motorcycle heaven, and here motorcyclists are welcome to come and play.

Graskop

The Summit Lodge - has existed for as long as I can remember and belongs to biking enthusiast, biking nut, biking historian and also pretty well known biking radio personality Andre Du Plessis. This lodge on the outskirts of Graskop, as you enter the town from Sabie has been catering for the needs of motorcyclists for years. The lodge also caters for other tourists and weary city dwellers. Accommodation is in well appointed  chalets, and self catering units, and even boasts a train coach with your own compartment if you feel like staying on the cheap. The main building has a very nice cosy pub, with fireplace and  restaurant. The Summit, as it has become known regularly offers specials to the motorcycle fraternity, and is also a wealth of information on rides in the area, and road conditions. The lodge features secure security fencing and gates. Entrance to the lodge, and inside is all on tar and paved roads. Nice place, good atmosphere, recommended. They can accommodate big groups.

Mogodi Lodge -  just outside Graskop on the way to Kowyn’s Pass offers some relaxing (and quiet) self catering accommodation. There is a good restaurant and pub, and it is situated right next to the gorge swing. The view is awesome from here. They are biker friendly, and not expensive. Safe & secure bike storage. They can also accommodate big groups. All tar and paved roads, with a restaurant and bar on site.

Recommended.
